Comfort House has kept all of its old features. Minor alterations have been made inside the house. The yew trees each side of the entrance are still there, but have changed shape from a column to a more rounded shape. Comfort house is the only thatched house left in Fore Street and Hen Street.

Challice House next to comfort House was then covered in a virginia creeper. The iron railings along the pavement were removed during the war to make bombs. The lamp post is still in the same place.

Pony and trap instead of motor cars - that was the day!
